Local marketing for doctors, clinics and hospitals

Facebook and Instagram ads for doctors, clinics and hospitals

In short: we run Meta ads for clinics and hospitals from Ads Manager, not the Boost button, with a clear goal such as WhatsApp enquiries or calls. Targeting is set around your practice, creatives are refreshed for Meta's Andromeda system, and every ad is written to pass Meta's health ad rules and India's medical advertising limits. Our fee is 20% of the ad spend we manage.

Fee: 20% of monthly ad spend, plus GST. Budget paid directly to Meta. See pricing

Where the money goes

Six ways doctors lose money on Facebook and Instagram.

Most doctors we speak to have tried Meta ads at least once, usually by themselves. The budget got spent, the post got likes, and the appointment book didn't change. These are the reasons we see again and again.

Boosting posts

The Boost button on your page feels like advertising, but it gives you very little control over what you're paying for. Real campaigns are built in Ads Manager, with a clear goal like WhatsApp enquiries.

Default targeting

Most boosted posts go live with whatever audience Meta suggests. A skin clinic in Bareilly ends up paying to reach people in other cities who will never visit.

One poster for months

Meta's Andromeda system rewards several genuinely different ads. The same festival greeting or clinic poster, running for months, costs more each week and brings less.

Copy that gets rejected

“Do you have hair fall?” breaks Meta's rule against implying anything about the viewer's health. Ads get rejected, or worse, the account gets restricted.

No tracking

Enquiries come on WhatsApp and phone, but nobody records which came from ads. Without that, there's no way to tell whether ₹10,000 brought five patients or none.

The cheap all-in-one package

An agency offers website, Google profile and ads for one low monthly price. With nobody who actually knows ads on the account, results rarely follow, and the account history is hard to undo.

Doing it yourself

Running ads yourself isn't free.

Managing ads yourself feels like saving the agency fee. In practice, it costs two things. The first is your time: an hour a day in Ads Manager is an hour away from patients or family, spent learning a tool that changes every few months.

The second is the budget itself. On a ₹20,000 monthly budget, our fee is ₹4,000. If wrong settings send even a quarter of the budget to people who will never visit, that's ₹5,000 lost every month, more than the fee, and you still haven't got the patients.

Choosing Meta and Google is the right instinct. Most clinics we see run exactly those two. What's missing is someone who runs them properly.

What works for clinics

The Meta campaigns we run for doctors.

WhatsApp enquiry ads

The ad opens a WhatsApp chat with your clinic. Patients would much rather chat than fill a form, so these usually bring more enquiries.

Lead forms with one question

A short form inside Facebook or Instagram, with one qualifying question so your reception isn't flooded with time-wasters.

Tight local radius

Ads shown only to people within a practical distance of the clinic, set by how far your patients actually travel.

Treatment explainers

Short videos that explain a treatment and what to expect. Education builds trust. In paid ads we keep the focus on the clinic's service, not the doctor's face, because the NMC guidelines don't allow a doctor's photo for self-promotion.

Announcements

New timings, a new address, a new department, health awareness talks. Formal announcements like these are clearly allowed. Free camps need care: the new guidelines don't allow free offers that push people into unnecessary tests or treatment.

Fresh creatives every few weeks

Five or more genuinely different ads per campaign, replaced as they tire, because that's how Andromeda decides who sees what.

For hospitals

What Meta ads do well for a hospital.

For a hospital, Facebook and Instagram are less about one treatment and more about letting the whole area know what the hospital has. A new cath lab, a new orthopaedic surgeon joining, a free health check-up camp on Sunday, a women's health package this month. People in your district see it again and again, and when the need comes, your hospital's name is the one they remember.

We usually run two kinds of campaigns for hospitals. The first is for awareness in a wider area around the hospital, for camps, new facilities and new doctors. The second is for WhatsApp enquiries on specific packages, like health check-ups or maternity, which are tracked and handed to the hospital's front desk the same day.

Under the NMC's October 2026 guidelines, hospitals can share factual information: departments, facilities, equipment, emergency services, accreditation and charges (clauses 8.3 and 9.1). What they can't do is make superiority claims, offer inducements, or promote one doctor in a promotional way. And the same rules apply as for clinics: no patient testimonials, no before-and-after photos, and nothing that suggests the person seeing the ad has a disease.

The rules

What a clinic ad can and can't say.

Two sets of rules apply at once: Meta's advertising policies and India's medical advertising rules. Here's how that looks in practice.

Write thisNot this
Allowed Diabetes and BP consultations at our clinic, Monday to SaturdayNot allowed Do you have diabetes? Book now
Allowed Laser hair reduction by a qualified dermatologist, with fees listedNot allowed Before and after photos of a patient

Discounts, limited-time offers and "best" claims are named in the NMC's October 2026 guidelines (clause 8.1). Claims to cure conditions such as diabetes or obesity are also barred under the Drugs and Magic Remedies Act. This is general guidance, not legal advice. Read our NMC guide.

Questions

Meta ads questions from doctors.

Can doctors run Facebook and Instagram ads in India?

Clinics and hospitals do, but within limits. The Medical Council's 2002 code of ethics is still in force, and on 6 October 2026 the NMC added guidelines that apply it to social media and online ads. Doctors can't solicit patients or promote themselves. There should be no discounts or limited-time offers, no "best" or "No. 1" claims, no testimonials, no before-and-after photos and no cure claims. The doctor's name, qualification and registration number should be on the ad. Factual information about the clinic, its services, timings and fees, and genuine health education, is the safe ground, and that's where we keep the ads.

Do you run Facebook and Instagram ads for hospitals?

Yes. For hospitals we mostly run awareness campaigns for camps, new facilities and new doctors, and WhatsApp enquiry campaigns for packages like health check-ups or maternity. Enquiries are passed to your front desk the same day. The fee is the same, 20% of the ad spend we manage.

Is boosting a post the same as running ads?

No. Boosting is a shortcut on your page with limited control over the goal, audience, placements and tracking. Ads Manager lets you choose what you want (WhatsApp messages, calls, leads), test several ads at once and see what each enquiry costs. Most wasted spend we see comes from boosted posts on default settings.

Why was my health ad rejected by Meta?

Usually because the text implies something about the person seeing it, like "Do you have back pain?" or "Struggling with hair fall?". Meta's personal attributes policy doesn't allow that. Describe the service instead: "Back pain assessment and physiotherapy at our clinic."

How much does a lead from Meta ads cost?

It varies by treatment and city. In our experience, a clinic enquiry from Meta ads typically costs around ₹250. Cosmetic and high-value treatments can cost more, and simple consultations less.

How much should a clinic spend on Meta ads?

It depends on your city, specialty and how many new patients you want. At around ₹250 per enquiry, a ₹10,000 test budget gives roughly 40 enquiries to learn from. We suggest a budget after the free audit and adjust it based on what each enquiry actually costs.

What is Meta Andromeda, and why does it matter for my ads?

Andromeda is the system Meta now uses to decide which ad to show each person. It reads the ad itself, the image, video and text, and matches it to people likely to respond. It rewards several genuinely different ads over one poster with small edits, and ads tire out faster. So a clinic running the same creative for months usually pays more for fewer enquiries.

Will you need my Facebook password?

No. You give our business account partner access to your ad account and page from your own Business Manager. The ad account stays in your name, and you can remove us at any time.

Who makes the ad creatives?

We do: posters, carousels and short videos. For video, the doctor can record a short clip on a phone and we edit it. AI video can be used for educational posts, with an AI mark, but the NMC's October 2026 guidelines don't allow AI promotional campaigns for a doctor's practice, so we don't run AI videos as sales ads for doctors.

What does Meta ads management cost?

Our fee is 20% of the monthly ad spend we manage, plus GST. On a ₹20,000 budget, that's ₹4,000. The ad budget itself is paid by you directly to Meta.
